Meet Molly Smith, MSW, LCSW-A
Adolescents | Adults
Hi, I'm Molly! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSW-A) with a Master of Social Work (MSW), and a therapist at Lumen Center for Wellness.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life's challenges, develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and learn to manage difficult emotions and experiences. My goal is to help clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, and feel more equipped to handle whatever life brings their way.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized.
I believe the relationship we build in therapy is just as important as the work we do together. I want therapy to be a place where you feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly about your experiences, and exploring what's on your mind without fear of judgment.
Life doesn't always go as planned, and sometimes it can feel overwhelming trying to figure everything out on your own. You don't have to have all the answers before starting therapy. We'll work together to make sense of what you're experiencing and identify what feels most important to you.
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into my work, helping clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through these approaches, we can explore patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and develop practical coping skills that can be used outside of the therapy room.
I recognize that no two people have the same experiences, challenges, or goals. Some clients come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on, while others are still figuring that out. I tailor my approach to each person's unique needs, creating opportunities for growth, self-discovery, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for them.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time at the beach, exploring new places, and making memories with the people I love. I believe finding joy in the little things and making time for meaningful connections can make a big difference in our overall well-being.
