Trauma Treatment for Teens in North Carolina

Lumen provides specialized support for teens who have experienced trauma and are struggling with its impact on their emotions, relationships, behavior, or daily life.

Trauma can result from a single event or ongoing experiences and may affect teens in ways that are not always immediately recognizable. Our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program serves teens ages 11–17, with consideration for 18-year-olds who are still enrolled in high school.

Our Approach

Our approach focuses on helping teens understand how trauma can affect their thoughts, emotions, and responses while building the skills needed to feel safer and more in control.

Treatment is trauma-informed, collaborative, and individualized, helping teens strengthen emotional regulation and healthy coping skills while giving them an active voice in their care and supporting the entire family throughout the process.
